A Year-Round Hoops Production
School Assembly and Fundraising Program

School comes first. That’s the message Aaron Smith, director of Year-Round Hoops, shares with students in elementary, middle and high schools across Michigan.

Each “Homework Before Hoops” assembly reinforces positive life skills and inspires students to strive toward classroom success. The assemblies are jam-packed with fun, including trivia contests for Pistons giveaways and the popular “teachers versus students” shooting contest. For certain performances, Pistons mascot Hooper and his trampoline dunk team, the Flight Crew, will perform, sending the students’ spirits sky-high.

In conjunction with the assembly, participating schools are able to take part in a fun and unique fundraising opportunity. Contact Carolynn Gleich at 248.375.4053 or cgleich@palacenet.com to learn how selling Pistons game tickets could benefit your class or group.

Sell Pistons Tickets. It Beats Pizza. Submit an Info Request
Schools get their money’s worth from selling Pistons game tickets as a class fundraiser. Students sell discounted tickets to an upcoming game, with up to $9 from every ticket sold going back to the school. “It wasn’t hard, everyone loves the Pistons,” said one mother. “We’ve done candy, pizza, but this is the most fun. I would do it again.”
To request an assembly at your school or learn more about the Pistons school assembly and fundraising program, submit an information request or contact Carolynn Gleich at 248.375.4053 or cgleich@palacenet.com.
“Homework Before Hoops” The Flight Crew
Here’s what Eric Scott, a social worker at Oak Park’s Roosevelt Middle School, had to say about Aaron Smith’s message. “It ties exactly into what we’ve been promoting with these students this year, in terms of looking at (students) being responsible, being respectful and safe,” he said. “Everything he said just tied right into what we’re pushing these kids to do."
The Pistons’ trampoline dunk team, the Flight Crew, is available upon request to perform at a limited number of assemblies each year. The Flight Crew adds unparalleled excitement to every event they attend, even for high school students. Students of all ages will be fired up to have the Pistons visit after watching this highlight video.
