Devin Harris Dedicates Computer Resource Center
DALLAS (June 21, 2005) – Today Devin Harris and the Dallas Mavericks, DeVry University and Glidden dedicated the new Dallas Mavericks Computer Resource Center at Interfaith Housing Coalition in conjunction with the club’s Read To Achieve program.

“The Dallas Mavericks Computer Resource Center makes an important addition to Interfaith Housing’s summer and after school curriculum for the children who live here as well as for their parents who are looking for jobs,” said Linda Hall, Executive Director of Interfaith Housing. “Truly a step-up to the next level, the Dallas Mavericks have upgraded our resources from only two used computers with unreliable internet access to a state-of-the-art computer lab providing internet resources as well as educational programming,” she added.

The newly-renovated facility received a new paint job compliments of Glidden and Mavs staffer Sean Hicks. As part of the renovation, the center was provided with new computers, printers and books compliments of the Mavs. Four students from DeVry University (Matt Bond, Jack Blackwell, Chris Carter and Dillon Crow) handled the ordering and installation of the computer equipment and software as part of a class project.

This is the fourth Mavs Reading & Learning Center. Last season’s center was created at the West Dallas Boys & Girls Club; and during the 2002-03 season the first two were dedicated at the Mesquite Boys & Girls Club and Bryan’s House.
