Originally an early entry candidate for the 2006 and 2007 NBA Drafts before withdrawing his name from consideration.
Career Highlights: Has grown up and played professionally in his native Turkey. Started career and moved up the ranks with Tofas Bursa before moving on to Fenerbahce Ulker for the 2005-06 season and has been there ever since. Signed a letter-of-intent to play at Western Carolina for the 2004-05 season but sat out while serving a season-long suspension from the NCAA for receiving improper benefits as an amateur while in Turkey. A member of the Turkish National Team. Averaged 2.4 points and 1.7 assists during the 2006 World Championships in Saitama, Japan. Contributed 8.6 points and 3.7 assists during the 2006 U20 European Championships in Izmir, Turkey, helping Turkey win the silver medal. Averaged 6.3 points during the 2005 U20 European Championships in Moscow. Contributed 15.5 points and 4.6 assists during the 2004 European Junior Championships.
2007-08: Averaged 1.8 points and 1.0 assists in just over 10 minutes a contest. Appeared in 12 games, missing much of the season due to injury. Averaged 1.2 points and 1.5 assists in 7.8 minutes a contest in Euroleague play.
2006-07: Averaged 3.7 points and 2.2 assists in just under 13 minutes a contest. Scored in double figures twice. Posted season highs of 15 points and seven assists. Contributed 1.6 points in 7.8 minutes a contest in Euroleague play.
2005-06: Averaged 5.8 points and 3.0 assists in 23.2 minutes a contest. Scored in double figures eight times, posting a season-high 14 points twice. Contributed 3.3 points and 1.6 assists in 15.8 minutes a contest in FIBA EuroCup play.
2003-04: With Tofas Bursa, averaged 4.9 points and 1.8 assists in 21.9 minutes a contest. Scored in double figures four times.
Strengths: Left-handed, pass-first point guard who has clear court vision and a good feel for the game. Long wingspan enables him to be a tough defender.
